How To Disable Speech Recognition From Startup on Windows 7!

Make sure that you are NOT in Classic Mode in Control Panel, So go to Control Panel having said that then click on Ease of Access, then click on "speech recognition"

Now on the sidebar on the left hand side, there should be a link to "Advanced Speech Options" , it should be above "Text to Speech" link.

Now click on it then in speech recognition tab, in user settings un-check the box for start up or change anything you want!

It is very simple but most people don't know how to do it!
Hope that above helps.

    1. Hi,
Thanks for your kind feedback and I agree with you on that but I think if you can access to control panel in Windows 8 then the rest of steps should be the same as above! Or you will need to find the settings for speech recognition.

  4. All of a sudden, about a week ago, Windows Speech Recognition started running at every startup. I do not want this, and didn't change anything to make it happen. I followed your instructions, and found that the "Run speech recognition at startup" is NOT checked. I used AUTORUNS to look at the stuff that starts automatically, but didn't see anything that is obviously related to this problem. I am using Dragon NS for speech recognition for a couple of years, and it still works OK. I don't see how Dragon could be involved in the problem I am having. .Anything else I can try?

    1. Hi,
Thanks for sharing the problem. May I ask what is your operating system? (Windows 7 or 8?) It is a strange problem. This is the only way in Windows 7 which I know of! Have you tried msconfig or CCleaner start up tool?
